The beloved GPvR Aero underwent some changes and upgrades in her life. Although you can barely see it on the outside, the speclist is actually quite large. All you can see on the outside is aftermarket wheels, that the car stands a little bit lower than stock and the people that know the FTO well will also see that the front brakes are much bigger than original. But that’s about it!
Most of the upgrades happened under the bonnet, in my opinion where true tuning belongs. No fancy or obnoxious spoiler kits that made the car look like a space ship, I really don’t like that. The design of the FTO is pure, smooth sporty and timeless. Why would you want to ruin a near perfect design?
The car has a healthy dyno tested output of 200 horsepower, not bad after 18 years! Engine response is much better than original and it picks up better in the low rev range. I think if you chiptune and configure the engine for power output in combination with all the upgrades, you should be able to push 220 or 230 horsepower from this nifty little 2 liter engine with the current speclist.
